Facebook has really shaken things up lately with all of the changes they’re making, and the jury is still out on whether it will help or hurt small business pages. I have heard mixed reports – some businesses have complained that their engagement numbers have dropped off, but I personally have not seen a difference in the amount of page updates in my news feed.
In the meantime, while we’re still trying to determine the impact of the Facebook changes on small business and how to adjust our practices to stay successful & competitive, encourage your Facebook page fans to add your page to one of their lists.
What’s a list you say? It’s the new feature Facebook has introduced to help people better organize their friends into categories based on their relationships (for example, close friends, acquaintances, family, people you don’t really know but feel bad denying their friend request). Not only can you organize your friends in lists, but it’s a little known fact that you can also organize your pages into lists. This is great, especially for those pages that post a little more than you would like – and for pages you are especially interested in but their updates get lost in your NewsFeed.
