Congratulations! If you’ve gone through the whole Facebook Page Timeline Setup tutorial your page is almost complete! Today we’ll go over a few details, review all of the steps, and get you prepared to launch on Monday.
Here’s the complete list of all tasks to setup your Facebook Timeline:
Day One – Highlight important status updates and favorable customer reviews.
Day Three – Create company milestones for your page.
Day Five – Choose your cover photo.
Day Six – Choose your profile image.
Day Seven – Moderate your comments
Day Eight – Edit your About section.
Day Nine – Add the Like box to your website.
Couple things to note:
Facebook Check in Deals changing to Facebook Offers
Check in deals are being replaced with a new type of coupon called “Offers.” This will be set up through the ads section of Facebook, but is completely free. However, Facebook has yet to actually roll out this feature. I will keep you updated, but until then keep in mind that any check in deals or specials you create in Facebook might have a short life.
Facebook Page Admin Permissions
Facebook has also said that it will soon roll out a feature that allows page administrators to set different levels of permission for other users who manage the page. So if you have multiple people that update your Facebook page but you don’t want them to have control over the more critical settings, you will be able to set them at a lower permission level. Facebook is also lagging behind on rolling out this feature, but like my Facebook page and I will keep you updated when it is ready.
Changing Your Facebook Page Name
In the past, it was impossible to change your page name after you went over 100 fans. Now Facebook has introduced a way to request a page name change. It doesn’t mean it will happen, but I’m guessing as long as it’s within the terms of service and not a duplicate of another page name you should be able to get it changed. Just think long and hard about what you want your page name to be before you change it. Think about any possible expansion you might do or location change and plan accordingly.
