Facebook Page Timeline Setup Tutorial
The final step in the Facebook Page Timeline Setup Tutorial is to launch your new Timeline! You should have done a review to make sure everything looks good in the last step, so now all that’s left is to publish your page, let people know about your new Timeline, and pin a message to the top.
New “Pin To Top” Feature
The last new feature of Timeline that we will cover is the pinning feature. It’s important for you to know and understand this feature because it is one of the main ways you can customize your page and capture leads or inspire action. It “pins” whatever status message you choose to the top of the page so that it shows up first, even if you publish a status update after it.
To pin a post, click on the pencil icon in the upper right hand corner and choose “Pin to top”:
A pinned post will have a bookmark in the top left corner and appear at the top of the page, like this:
Some ways to use this feature:
-Pin your most recent deals or coupons for your Facebook fans to the top of your page.
-Pin your latest blog post.
-Pin your favorite quote.
-Pin upcoming events.
-Pin a photo with the action step you want your customers to take (for example, “Like our page to hear about our latest events first” or “Visit our website to see our sale items.”
